Walnut Creek Skatepark Jam video is done!

Let The Bikes In Jam 11/15/08 from The Over Show on Vimeo.

Big thanks go to 2B for editing the video during crunch time to get Worthless online at the same time. I know a bunch of people have been eagerly awaiting the dropping of this video, so here it is. The fight isnt over yet. The city of Walnut Creek still has to hear our case. So far the projected amount of signatures that we need has been reached, so thanks again to everyone who signed it. No thanks to the douche that wrote fuck you on the petition. Who ever you are, you are a bastered. Also, more videos are in the making, Tony still hasnt filmed at all, so ill just release his footage asap. Where the hell is Tony anyways? There is only about three more months until I can ride bmx again, and im coming out of the gate swinging for sure. These have been the longest three months of my life.

Zach Photos

-Jeremy Joy photographer

Last night Zach got shit done at the skatepark. Gap to corner pocket wallride, and another big gap to wallride. It looks like Josh is in one of the photos or something. The meaning being the Josh got "Hodered."

To Hoder-(verb) When a rider does a trick (ex. 180 a gap or whatever), and then another rider comes along and one ups that trick. (ex. 360's barspins or tailwhips or what ever is gnarer than a 180 on that gap or whatever) That is called Hodering someone.
Sentence- That was cool toboggan Sean Burns, but Mike Hoder 360ed that gap and Hodered you.

Even more Photos by Zach

More Jam photos

Told you photos were coming soon.

Huge Success at Walnut Creek Park

Hold your horses! There will be more photos coming, and a video of what went down. These are just some after hour photos. I just wanted to make a post to assure everyone who didnt attend that it went well, and you missed out big time. Shame on you. And of course the winner of the rail jam was Joel Hulsey with a manual to hangover toothpick, Gutter Crew Dale came in 2nd with a 180 to backwards double peg, and John Ivers won the park killer award. Congrats to you guys.
Unfortunatly the battle to get bikes into the skatepark isnt over yet. We still need to go to the city council meeting to get the board of dictators to vote on this issue. I think we got enough signatures, but if not and you want to sign let me know because that online petition was worthless. Like I said, more photos will be posted soon along with a video. Thank you again to everyone who came out to support the cause!

Walnut Creek Skatepark Jam Saterday the 15th

This afternoon a little bird told me that the Toy Machine skateboard team is doing a demo at the park the same day, but fuck it.(not butt fuck it you fag) The jam is going down anyways, and there could be an epic battle, but only time will tell. If you want to ride the park, it is ride at your own risk. Dont come crying to us expecting us to pay your ticket because we wont. We are just as broke as you are espesially after holding this ralley. Emily is awsome, because she just built this awsome flat rail, which will be used to have a flat rail jam! Yes that's right 100$ cash prize that is coming out of our own wallets, so we expect you all to throw down(tricks) and have a good time doing it. There will be live music going down. Curve of the Earth and Whiskey for our Men will be playing. Bring $3 with you, and you will receive a huge plate of food. Email me for more info, or leave a comment.

Ride The Bay Today

I just got an email from Jamie who is riding many skateparks in the Bay Area today in an effort to protest that bikes arn't allowed in skateparks in the bay area. I can't ride yet, but please, if you want to help bikes get into parks, the least you can do is show up at his event, and other upcoming events. Show up to city council meetings. Lets do this!

Couple New Posts/Skatepark update

I made some re-edits of Jason's and My last video parts, and Eric sent through a photo of a wallride to Table on the bike trail so check those out.

Now as for the Walnut Creek Skatepark Ralley, it is still on for next weekend. Funny thing happened though. Yesterday when I was getting ready to go to Berkely Skatepark for the Ride The Bay event, I get a call from Scott, and he said that there were EIGHT cop cars outside the skatepark waiting for our jam to start. It was a releif that we werent there, but now we know what we have to expect next weekend. Hopefully this permit rolls through so that we can have minimal confrontation with the police.
If you havent heard already, there is a $100 CASH PRIZE FOR THE RAIL JAM! Yes you have a change to win some money at the rail jam outside the skatepark. Pegs or no pegs, throw down and have enough money to get by for a week, or spend it however you please. We also have other prizes too, if we see you throwing down crazy shit, being cool, or whatever. Expect a good time if you plan on coming. Hopfully Ill have a new flyer to post today or sometime soon. Check back. Happy Trails

The Better Man Won

Barrack Obama is probably the better decision for America in a time like this. He says that he sees America as a united group of people, but then again most every democrat sees America as a group. He used the golden word "change" a lot in his campaign trail to the white house. Ill just say this first, "a change we need" is a way better slogan than "country first.' "Country First" is implying some scarry shit. Americas borders are already big enough, spilling to the far reaches of the world, where we are trying to "spread democracy" which aparently is the best form of government known to man. At least that is what Manifest Destiny told us if you all remember correctly. Those last two sentences were sarcasim if you didnt already figure that out.
Now, Obama is in the white house. It is going to be interesting to see what he is going to try and do with congress, and the way things are run in Washington D.C. But remember everyone who thinks that there will be significant changes, trying to solve problems with government hasn't always worked in the past, infact, things that try and get solved by government can take a really long time, and can be completely forgotten about. Look back to the Progressive ERA. People liked to think that they were progressive, but not a whole lot changed. This time could be very similar 100 years later where we think that we are making changes, but we dont really move that far.

(note:I didn't vote for Obama)
