Red Lights and Bikes
Saw this on SJBMX. I thought that this was funny because it was posted under Hell on Wheels 5. As for Hell on Wheels 5, I don't think that i'm going. There are a few reasons why I don't want to go. 1. It will get shut down by the police. 2. These jams are a pain in the ass to ride in. 3. My wrist is still not ready to ride. 4. The new San Francisco Chief of Police is trying to change the way S.F. law enforcement is run. 5. When police see a jam going down at a spot. It will either get capped or be a bust.
But I might go anyways. Ill see how I feel by the 25th.

Colorado Trip Part 9
Two parts in one day. We should have filmed at the skatepark there, even though that park was kinda lame. Price Utah!
Colorado Trip Part 9
This is one of the more sobering experiences I've had. Our friends from Colorado made a memorial for Billy Hammer at the site of his death, which was on the Montrose County line. I forget what the name of the road is, but it is not a conventional name at all. Something like Mesa 120E or something like that. The road I guess is a back road that connects Delta to Montrose. Like Austin was saying, this was surreal.

Stolen Bikes
This is the first time that I have ever had something stolen from me and couldn't get it back. It's a really shitty feeling, and it changes the way I live in the city. The thing about living in the city is that it is a pain to drive to most places, and when you get there the city slaps you in the face with a parking fee. So if one can avoid driving from A to B then that opption would be prefered. A bike is a very usefull tool in a place like this.
To my dismay, Scott's and My bike got stolen from 1 Embarcadero. Right next to a Bank Of America teller, with a security camera pointed right at the bike racks.
The thing that really strikes me about the entire situation is that in San Francisco, there are a lot of people walking around. My bike lock was all that remained and it was cut by what would have had to have been bolt cutters. How is a random person or persons able to casually walk the streets of San Francisco with bolt cutters either in their bag or where ever they have them, and no one keeps an eye on them. That's not to say that no one should own a pair of bolt cutters. I have a pair in my car that I use only to get to hard to reach BMX spots. But I never walk the streets with them in plain view or in my bag. It is amazing that someone can get away with a bolt cutting crime in a major population center like San Francisco.
Whoever it was, they made out really well in this crime.
Now, I'm going to have to become a patron to Muni if I can't ride a bike this week. And no fucking way am I riding my BMX bike to school. I wouldn't lock up that bike anywhere and leave it for a few hours. If you the reader thought that I was talking about my BMX getting stolen, be thankfull that it wasn't. I'm happy it wasn't, but still angry about the whole thing though.

Colorado Trip Part 5
At that point of the trip, we were all pretty beat. I dont think we rode anymore after that. We pretty much just chilled out and made our way back home. Such good times in Montrose.

Michael Moore Blames Capitalism for Meltdown
The San Francisco Chronicle has an article about Moore's new film where he blames capitalism for not everyone being able to have equal opportunity. This is infuriating.

I Before E Except After C
This is probably the golden rule that will help me pass my English Exit Exam otherwise known as JEPET. I've noticed that without spellcheck, I can't spell words like view, believe, severe, or any word with ie in it. Just in case, I did use spell check there. Veiw, beleive, seviere is how they would be spelt according to me. The four years of German that I took in high school are partially to blame for this everyday mistake.
In German words like sein, dein, mein do not follow the English rule. German is very similar to English where words look similar, and sentence structure is almost the same with a few exceptions. Notice that in German the rule is E before I. Well, the rule is which ever letter makes the predominant sound goes second. It could be the other way around though and look like an English word but have a very different meaning. Example: Die Kammera ist kapput, und ich hab kein Geld fur ein anderes. The word Die in German is the feminine gender for camera. That word follows the English rule. Or I could have said: Mein Kammera is kapput, und ich hab kein Geld fur ein anderes. For everyone who wants to know what I wrote, it is the camera is broken and I don't have any money to buy another one.
Basically after four years of studying German, I learned more about English than I did in normal English classes. But in my opinion, English classes in California don't do a good job explaining sentence structure. This is the case in high schools though. In my jounior year, my teacher was still trying to teach the class proper sentence structure. That was a bit of a shock to me. But I hope that I still remember enough about English that I learned in German class for this English Exam.

Anyone Still Interested in the NORA Cup?
The Come Up posted who all the nominees are this year. I wish there was a betting pool for this thing.
My picks:
Ramp: Bestwick
Dirt: This is tough, but probably Doyle
Street: Definetly another tough one, but I'll take Rob Wise because he had an interveiw in Ride earlier this year that contained some of the most rediculous photos that I have ever seen.
Flatland: I can't vote here just because I don't keep up to date on who's the one in flatland.
Race: Same in this catagory as well.
Video Part: I haven't seen Davey Watson's Shola part, so I'm going to go with Garrett Reynolds – Writing on the Wall. I chose that over Colt Fake because Reynolds did more tricks on crazy obsticles where as Colt Fake just hucked. Double truck down a block 4.
Video: Better Off Dead gets this award though. All the sections here were rediculous. Colt Fake, and Rickey Bates both had unbeleivable parts. Writing on the wall had two great parts as well, but Mike Spinner is not a video part rider. That part is really painfull to watch.

This is an interveiw with Damian and Ben from Fucked Up, which I found on the Fucked Up myspace. It is a really interesting conversation about their experience in the Hardcore cercuit. However it is almost a year old.

Colorado Trip Part 2
I am lovin these edits! This is really great to see because by now, I can't remember everything that happened in its entirety on the trip. This video doesn't show it, but after I fell on that hand rail security called the cops so we had to dip. That is actually the first time that I've seen that bail on film. But god damnit, I was ready to pull that thing after that. Now it just pisses me off that I didn't pull it. Ill be back SLC!

Hardly Stricktly Bluegrass 9
It's happening in October in Golden Gate Park like it does every year! Here is the flyer for bands that are playing. If you like the blues, then come out to San Francisco to see some great bands play!
Jam Video
This is one of the jams that we recorded last weekend. It is also a sample for what we have coming up as a new band in the next few months. We are going to play the blues!

Bay Air, Oakland, CA
This kid Adam that I know built a skatepark in Oakland with the help of one of his friends. I know this courtesy of SJBMX. This is probably old news by now. It is 5$ to ride there unless you are an Oakland native, then you can ride there for free. From what I hear the ramps are solid, so I'm going to check them out tonight. Here are the directions to the place.
Spring and Summer Video is Online
I hope the quality gets better. This is just a quick edit of the clips accuired over the last few months.

San Francisco
Tonight is the first night that I will be spending in the city by the bay. I already rode down to the corner liqour store on my mountain bike and the neighborhood is awsome at night. It is a little bit louder than I thought it was going to be in the day time. I wrote that because Jason asked me if this was a quite neighborhood or not last weekend. To answer that question, Ingleside is louder than Downtown Berkely.
I found a really cool hubba ledge for left side grinds today and that's about it as far as riding goes. Today was basically just a move in day and getting settled in day. In the mean time after finishing homework assignments, I edited a video. The only problem is that I dont have enough disk space to save the finished product on my computer. And that also means that I can't put it online. When I go back to the East Bay this weekend I will see if I can give a disk to 2B and he can upload it on The Over Show's youtube page.
This weekend should be pretty chill. Due to state budget cuts, I have a five day weekend. Today I was struck by a group of student and faculty activists protesting the state budget cuts. "We are the students, Mighty Mighty Students, Fighting for justice, and our education." That is what they chanted. It was amazing to think of how right they are. Mine, and many other student's education is in the hands of the state government. And that can't be more wrong. I wounder if Austin, Jason, and Neil have the same problems as I do when it comes to getting into classes. California is really fucked up right now. But California has been a bad place ever since the frontier days I quess.
Anyways I will try to get this video online and submit is to SJBMX.
