Found some photos from the trip to Oregon

This trip actuall happened before I made this blog site to begin with. But I have just been sitting around at home for a while and had nothing to post. I was reminded of this when I saw that Eric Ostrom posted the pictures up on myspace. That video is a few months old now too.

Josh Baty Photos

Here are some photos that Whitney Hawbaker (Josh's GF) took of him. The footjam and the icepick are recent and were taken at Treasure Island. The turndown gap to the street is old, but is still a really cool photo.

Zach Becker and Josh Baty entered in 2-Hip

Scott just told me that Zach and Duce were juiced on the 2-hip jam and entered. I am so stoked for this jam. Scott, Zach, and Duce are entered. Austin! There are limited spots in this jam. Get on that shit dude!

The Recovery Period Begins

Yesterday I had my surgery, an I have to say that the drugs are amazing. Oxycodone is way better than Vicatin, and I got to experience anistesia for the first time ever. In the mean time, I have been practicing guitar riffs for a band project that Scott and I have started called Son of A Bitch. 3 songs down, now we just need to record them for our demo. Possible record on vynl by the middle of 2009.
I am sure you all want to read some more bmx news since that is what most of you depict this site to be. Scott and Austin are entered in the 2 Hip Jam. You should be too. Who cares if you plan on winning or not. It would just be fun to ride in the event and have fun. I wish I could ride in it.
Jason learned downside whips a few days ago at Walnut Creek park, and they look sick. I am sure that in about two to four weeks ill be filming again. As of now, I am not sure that I want to start another full length video project. If some riders from the area are down to film a full length part, I am down to film it. I havent decided if I am going to do a comeback part for a while though. Ill probablly end up taking my recovery slow.
Happy Trails

Want To See Something Crazy?

Focus on the middle of the screen during the whole video. Ouch.

2-Hip Meet The Street October 11, and 12th

Since I have been riding, I have never been to a Meet The Street Event. However, I am excited to see this event. From what I understand though, I think you have to go to 2-hip's site and sign up if you want to ride in this event. http://www.2hip.com/ It looks like there are a bunch of sick ass events coming up in the Bay Area. There is this one, and I think the following weekend is Hell On Wheels 4. I checked Transparentbmx's site, but they dont have a flyer posted for Hell On Wheels. This is going to be the first Hell On Wheels jam that I wont be riding in. Bummer, but ill still go and film and hang out. All in all, october looks like a HELLA fun month. Hell Yea Fuck Yea Shit Yea!

Nothing Is Happening

Havent done any riding this weekend. There's dedication. Too be honest, I just got a guitar on Wednesday, and Ive been playing that all week. I was supposed to ride today with Josh, Scott and Dennis, but Whiskey kind of killed my day. No photos or filming has gone down latly. Which tells me that I need a photo camera. Still working on Tony's video, and other parts too. On a not so positive note, my surgery is on Tuesday, so I wont be able to film for a while. Rock on Dudes!

Icer Air Sept. 17th and 18th

Unfortunatly due to my surgery schedule, I wont be able to go to Icer Air this year. This sucks because last year I went and saw all the riders at the bmx ramp and I felt left out because I didnt know that there was going to be a bmx comp there so I didnt bring my bike. This year I was going to try and ride in the comp but I wont be able to ride for a little over six months. Surgury is free though! So I encourage every rider to go, and ride or get drunk at this event. It was awsome last year, and I hope it is just as awsome this year.

Yeah.

I forgot where I saw this picture, but when I was going through my pictures I saw this. It's funny. Laugh at it.

What the Fuck Happened?

For anyone who reads this. Please do not associate what this video represents to bmx. This is seriously the lamest thing that has been thought of on the planet earth. To be honest I thought this shit was funny when I first watched it because the kids who were riding these things looked like total dorks and I'd probably get along with them just fine. But get this readers, Street Surfing is going to be in the X-Games in 2010................... WHAT THE FUCK. No more dirt or flatland, but now we can have street surfing? Come the fuck on.

Update on my Knee

Last week I tried to ride Pleasanton Skatepark and right when I got there I tried to jump the bank hip and went too fast at it and almost went to flat. Doing so I put my foot down and my knee popped out again. Its back to square one for me. As for now im just hanging out and filming when im not in school. For the first three days after I hurt my knee, the only way I could get around is on crutches. Today I am walking a little bit more comfortably, but pedaling on a bmx bike hurts too much. In about an hour I will be crusing around in San Francisco on my mountain bike filming and hanging out with Scott, Josh, and Jason. Looking forward to another awsome San Francisco session. The city is awsome because you dont need to be on a bike to have a good time.
Right now I am working on a few videos. One is of Tony, and another is a bunch of clips of Austin, Josh, Jason, Scott, and Zach. Where the hell does Tony kick it these days? Also Dennis and Alex! We need to fuckin ride soon!

Tomorrow We Work video reveiw

The first thing that I noticed when I watched this video was that the frames per second in the UK are not the same as they are in the USA. Joe Cox edited this in a very artsy way. Dont get me wrong though, the riding in this video is amazing. And the editing was good but I felt that it was a little over done. However the sound track almost made me fall asleep because all the songs are slow. My favorite part in the video was Josh Bedford's part. Front pedal grind to HARDWAY 180. That trick has been done before I know, but he did it on a reasonably high ledge. Watching this video makes me want to take a trip to Europe to ride and hang out. One day I really want to do that.
All in all I would give this video a 8/10.

2x4 Video Reveiw

This video is straight up bmx. Nothing artsy about it what so ever. No intro, it just goes straight into Van Homan's part. I expected a lot from this video, but I think I expected to much from it, but it wasnt a let down by any means what so ever.
One thing that Austin pointed out yesterday was that Van Homan has never had a bad video part, and this was no exception where he has all bangers and some new difficult tricks that are mind blowing. Hop over Barspin double peg is all I have to say, and that isnt the banger.
Wiz didnt dissapoint at all. His part was enjoyable, and still kills it. Not to mention that he is the master of the pole jam.
Chase Dehart never fails with a steez ass part. His end trick is amazing and I dont know how he pulled it off.
Rany Brown has the end part and if was pretty cool, I just had beef with the song. Schools Out For Summer.
If you want to buy it just to buy it thats cool, but I can see someone putting it online in the near future.

Shit City Fucks

http://www.joereadel.com/gwww.mov

Awsome video.

Ceremony is the best band in the world

I just got Ceremony's new album "Still Nothing Moves You" and I have to rate it a 10/10. The Difference Between which is paired after Dead Moon California is the best song of the time. Going from a slow baseline into a fast paced guitar and drum furry. The lyrics are the most epic part about this whole album though. I highly recomend you go by this album.
